Back to the Workshop

We went to Tahoe last weekend and had a nice time attending Sherry's cousin's wedding on Friday night at Caesar's Tahoe. Sherry was looking very hot. We rented a friend's home off Pioneer Trail. It is always great there. We looked at some open houses on Saturday and found the most awesome place. All wood, big, great floor plan with GREAT ROOM, fabulous trim, and surrounded by conservatory land. Only one big problem - $1,175,000!!!! We won't be buying it soon.

Taking Friday off and getting back into the workshop. I'll stain and finish the raised panels for the computer tower and scrapbook cabinet and finish cutting the bookshelfs. Time to make some more sawdust. Still thinking way too much about the set up of my dust collection system. Just got to do it and then adjust and redesign as I go.

Surprising Dad

My Dad has always been an avid and talented woodworker. I'm trying to follow in his footsteps. He was very impressed with my Porter-Cable 895PK Router and it's over the table bit changing ability. On the way to the recent Woodworker Show I surprised him by saying my wife and I had decided to buy him the router of his choice at the show. He only argued about us making the purchase for a few minutes. By the time we entered the show he was quite enthused about selecting a router. We walked out with a 895PK. He couldn't be more pleased.

Back to work

11/5/05 After a much too long week at work, I finally got back to working on the Bay Window Project. Finished the drawer fronts on both cabinets and started the book shelves. I'm wondering if I should put the raised panel doors together and stain them later or stain the door parts first and then put them together. Put together my dust collector but haven't used it yet. Planning on plumbing the garage with a line to the table saw and miter saw and one other to the drill press and workbench. Maybe keeping the blower in the garage and exhausting it outside to a garbage can. Daylight Savings Time is slowing me down. Can't get much done after work because of the early darkness. Pictures coming soon.
